Borac confident ahead of second-leg clash with Petrocub

Borac Banja Luka will face Petrocub in the second leg of the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round on Wednesday at 19:00 in Chișinău, looking to secure a place in the next stage of the competition.

The Bosnian side travels to Moldova with a commanding 3–0 advantage from the first leg and is confident of completing the job to advance to the third qualifying round.

“We’re pleased with the result from the first match, although the margin could have been even greater. There’s no room for complacency. We’re going there to finish the job. I hope we’ll have more space to play. We need to be smart and score as early as possible to control the game until the end. The atmosphere in the squad is excellent, and we’re building a new winning mentality,” midfielder Sandi Ogrinec said.

Assistant coach Boris Raspudić also expressed confidence ahead of the return leg.

“A 3–0 lead is a significant advantage. We’ll try to score early and effectively settle the tie. Petrocub played very defensively in Banja Luka, but we expect them to be more open at home, which should create opportunities for us to exploit,” Raspudić said.

Borac is aiming to protect its first-leg advantage and continue its European campaign by reaching the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
