Former Serb detainees Momir Lazić and Dragan Kovačević from Derventa, who survived abuse in the Rabić detention camp and the Army Hall detention facility in Derventa during 1992, are scheduled to testify today before U.S. investigators and prosecutors.
Drago Knežević, President of the Derventa Association of Former Camp Detainees, said today’s hearings are expected to conclude the planned testimony of all eight former Serb detainees before U.S. investigators at the Basic Court in Derventa.
According to the reported account, Croatian and Bosniak forces attacked the local Serb population in the Derventa area during the 1992 conflict, before the Army of Republika Srpska had been formally established.
Detention facilities for Serbs were subsequently established, with the Army Hall facility and the Rabić camp described as the most notorious.
According to the statement, approximately 120 Serbs were held at the Rabić camp, while several hundred Serb civilians passed through detention facilities in the Derventa area during the war.
