The Museum of Kozara in Prijedor has opened the exhibition “King of Kings – Ruler of Destiny, Master of the Universe”, featuring works by artist Radoslav Tadić. The exhibition explores an artistic language that moves beyond literal representation into a space of symbolism, interpretation, and imaginative dialogue.
Tadić drew inspiration from Jovan Dučić’s renowned work “The Treasure of Emperor Radovan,” using it not as a symbol of power over the external world but as a reflection of an inner perspective from which the world can be imagined and shaped.
“The title of the exhibition follows the titles of the individual works, but it actually stands in contrast to the atmosphere I wanted to create. For me, these paintings are harmonious and quiet. My intention was to open a mental space in which every viewer can place their own impressions, reflections, and interpretations between those contrasting ideas,” Tadić said.
Natural motifs serve as the fundamental building blocks of both the material and emotional dimensions of the artworks.
“Color has always been my primary source of inspiration. It is the first thing I perceive and experience. Whether I am creating a painting, an object, or an installation, color remains the dominant element, and that is true of this exhibition as well,” he added.
The exhibition was selected through the Museum of Kozara’s annual public competition for exhibition projects and is being presented as part of the Prijedor Summer 2026 cultural programme.
Acting Director of the Museum of Kozara Nemanja Kuridža announced that the institution’s Sixth Biennial of Works on Paper will follow in the second half of August.
The exhibition “King of Kings – Ruler of Destiny, Master of the Universe” will remain open to visitors until August 17.
