Document confirming how Bećirović’s cabinet misled the Commission to Preserve National Monuments

Although the decision on appointing new members of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adopted by members of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić by outvoting the Serb member of the Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, has not entered into force, Bećirović’s cabinet nevertheless forwarded such a decision to the Commission.

RTRS is in possession of the document signed by the head of Bećirović’s Cabinet.

The decision on appointing new members of the Commission

The head of Bećirović’s Cabinet, Alija Kožljak, delivered to the Commission, outside the prescribed protocol procedures, the decision of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency on the appointment of members of the Commission, which had been adopted by the outvoting of two members from the Federation, and on which the Serb member Željka Cvijanović had lodged a veto.

At a special session, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, by a two-thirds majority, confirmed Cvijanović’s statement that the decision of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency on the appointment of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments, adopted without consensus at the session of that joint institution, was highly detrimental to the vital interests of Republika Srpska.

It was thereby decided that, for Republika Srpska, the disputed decision of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency would not enter into force.

As a reminder, the member of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments from Republika Srpska, Anđelina Ošap Gaćanović, stated that she had informed all relevant authorities of the independent and unlawful conduct of the head of the Cabinet of Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency member Denis Bećirović, who, bypassing all procedures, delivered to the Commission a Presidency decision on which the Serb member Željka Cvijanović had lodged a veto.
