“Gradiška Spring 2026” concludes: Best young writers receive awards

The literary creativity of young people from across the region brought together talented primary and secondary school students in Gradiška, where the awards ceremony marked the conclusion of the ninth edition of “Gradiška Spring”.

This literary competition continues to confirm its reputation among young authors year after year, and this year 393 entries were submitted from Republika Srpska, Serbia, Kosovo and Metohija, and North Macedonia.

Poetry, short stories and youthful imagination once again marked the conclusion of the “Gradiška Spring” literary competition. The ninth edition of the event gathered nearly four hundred young authors from across the region, while the expert jury faced the difficult task of selecting the best among 393 submissions.

The best prose work among primary school students was written by Mihaela Zelenika from the “Mladen Stojanović” Primary School in Laktaši.

Among secondary school students, first place in poetry was awarded to Lazar Tandarić from the Technical School in Gradiška. The best prose work was written by Dajana Borjanović from the Secondary Vocational and Technical School in Gradiška.

According to the jury, this year’s “Gradiška Spring” was the highest-quality edition so far, and 229 works were included in the collection “First Steps”, making the competition unique.

A special contribution was made by the programme’s guests – children’s entertainer Bane Leteća Gitara and local writer Žarko Šarić from Srbac, whose interaction with the participants further enriched this literary celebration of young people.
