FK Borac Banja Luka crowned its championship-winning season with a 2:0 victory over HŠK Posušje in the final round of the WWin League, marking the club’s 100th anniversary in style.
Vice president Bogoljub Zeljković congratulated the players, coaching staff and club employees on what he described as a dominant title-winning campaign.
“We celebrated the 100th birthday of our club in the best possible way. This title is a gift to our loyal supporters, who have been our driving force through all these years,” Zeljković said.
Despite the celebrations, Borac will have little time to rest, with preparations for the new season beginning on June 10. The club’s ambitions include qualifying for the group stage of a European competition and winning back-to-back domestic titles for the first time in its history.
Vico Zeljković congratulated Borac on the championship, stating that the club showed the highest level of consistency throughout the season.
“Borac deservedly won the title. I also congratulate Sarajevo, Velež and Zrinjski on qualifying for European competitions,” he said, adding that the current league format has proven to be a positive step forward for football in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Veteran midfielder Stojan Vranješ reflected on his personal milestone of 300 appearances for Borac.
“A boy from Banja Luka dreamed of playing for Borac, and now this is my third title with the club. I can only be proud and happy,” Vranješ said.
Top scorer Luka Juričić finished the season with 27 goals, calling it the most successful campaign of his career so far.
Head coach Vinko Marinović praised the mentality and unity of his squad.
“From the first to the last round, we proved we were the best team. The players showed incredible character, friendship and togetherness,” Marinović said.
Club captain Srđan Grahovac described the season as spectacular and emotional, especially because of the club’s centennial celebration.
“We grew up with this club. Winning the title in the year of Borac’s 100th anniversary makes everything even more special,” Grahovac said.
