Alexander Grushko said that the Office of the High Representative must be removed, following a meeting between officials of Republika Srpska and a high-level delegation of the Russian Federation.
Grushko stated that the appointment of Christian Schmidt as High Representative had significantly worsened long-term stabilization efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“They have proven that Western experiments with external governance lead to nothing good,” Grushko said.
He added that interference in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina is unacceptable.
Grushko said Russia would continue supporting the Dayton Peace Agreement and the preservation of its principles.
“It was a great honour for our delegation to be received by the leadership of Republika Srpska and to continue our dialogue as before,” he said.
“I agree with the assessments of the President of Republika Srpska regarding bilateral relations between Republika Srpska and the Russian Federation. They are built on a foundation of mutual support and cooperation,” Grushko added.
Representing Republika Srpska at the meeting were Siniša Karan, Prime Minister Savo Minić, President of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić, and SNSD leader Milorad Dodik.
Alongside Grushko in the Russian delegation were Yuriy Pilipson and Yegor Skopenko.
