Aleksandar Vranješ, assistant professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Banja Luka, said that Donald Trump Jr.’s visit demonstrates that cooperation between the United States and Republika Srpska is continuing to grow, and that Republika Srpska’s position in Washington is improving.
Speaking to RTRS after the panel discussion at the Banski Dvor, Vranješ emphasized that the visit should be viewed in a broader context.
“It is important to note that President Dodik was the first in the region to support both the first and second presidential bids of Donald Trump, and he called on all Serbs with voting rights in the United States to do the same. The Trump family recognizes and respects that, which is evident today,” Vranješ said.
He added that Dodik had also been targeted by the administration of former U.S. President Joe Biden.
“Today’s events show that cooperation is continuing and that the level of understanding is expanding. This is the result of Dodik’s consistent policy toward Trump and his agenda,” Vranješ stated.
He also noted that the panel discussion itself carries significant importance, particularly given the presence of Donald Trump Jr., who, he said, demonstrated a willingness to build a partnership with Republika Srpska.
