Jean-Lin Lacapelle, a member of France’s National Rally party, said that SNSD’s success in the general elections in BiH represents a political victory for the identity of the Serb people, their territory and history.
“The elections held on Sunday, October 4, in Republika Srpska represent a success for nationally conscious parties, and I congratulate President Milorad Dodik on the results achieved, as well as Željka Cvijanović on her election to the three-member Presidency of BiH,” Lacapelle said.
He expressed regret over what he described as Brussels’ persistent desire to interfere throughout the region and attempts to take control of Republika Srpska.
“The transfer of competences from the Dayton framework to Brussels seems illegitimate to me, and I hope that the Serb people will continue their struggle to ensure respect for both territorial sovereignty and political independence,” said the prominent French politician.
Lacapelle warned that neither the OHR nor the institutions in Brussels should disregard democracy, stressing that the rule of law must be respected in Republika Srpska just as it must be anywhere else.
“The election results have shown that President Dodik and his party enjoy support in their struggle for their people,” said Lacapelle, a former member of the European Parliament.
