The visit of the Republika Srpska delegation to Washington is undoubtedly a success for Srpska, it was said at a press conference held by the delegation today at Mahovljani Airport.
They stressed that the visit showed that Srpska has overcome pressure from both foreign actors and political Sarajevo.
“Political Sarajevo is trying to discredit Republika Srpska and Milorad Dodik, but they have not succeeded,” said SNSD leader Milorad Dodik.
He emphasized that the Srpska delegation met with 14 congressmen, several senators, as well as other important political figures.
He stated that this is now a different America.
“The plan to dismantle Republika Srpska has failed. The Dayton Agreement has been destroyed and has no chance of being repaired. It is evident that Muslims are exerting pressure on us Serbs in order to endanger Christians,” Dodik said.
He added that there is also an idea to impose sanctions on Schmidt.
“In the United States we also spoke with the White House spokesperson and discussed Republika Srpska. We made it clear that Bosnia and Herzegovina is unacceptable to us, that we will do our job and will not give up on our idea. We went exclusively as representatives of Republika Srpska, not Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Dodik said.
He stressed that Srpska will continue to work on affirming its status and the right to self-determination.
“When we were in Jerusalem, we were with people who understand suffering, sanctions, and a history of sacrifice. We support their efforts to secure a bastion of freedom that they must defend. Jews around the world support Israel, as do those who live there. We did not have to explain that there are those in Sarajevo who want to abolish Republika Srpska. We increasingly have fewer reasons to conduct any talks that would end with discussions about a shared future,” Dodik said.
He stated that no one can impose anything on Srpska anymore.
“With Moscow and Russia we have a strategic partnership. We will continue to cooperate with Russia at the strategic level. The United States was the stage on which we removed the burden of a responsibility that was falsely imposed on us. I want peace for Muslims and Bosniaks, but they should also consider parting ways with us. It has been recognized that Dayton and Bosnia and Herzegovina were never permanently arranged. We have no aspirations toward the Federation of BiH; they have aspirations toward us. They threatened us with war, we did not threaten them. Our goal is separation. They have destroyed politics,” Dodik said.
We recall that the Republika Srpska delegation concluded its multi-day visit to Washington, during which it attended the National Prayer Breakfast and held a series of meetings with senior officials of the U.S. administration.
