“During an extended interview for the Jerusalem Post, SNSD leader Milorad Dodik repeatedly drew parallels between Israel and Republika Srpska, presenting both nations as being under constant political, legal, and ideological pressure from Europe and international institutions.”
“Speaking after receiving the ‘Jabotinsky for Freedom’ award, Dodik described Jabotinsky’s struggle for Jewish statehood as an inspiration for Serbs, particularly in what he said is their fight to preserve autonomy and national rights.”
“He argued that teachings associated with Jabotinsky remain relevant today, especially at a time when, as he put it, the rights of nations are being pushed aside.”
“‘Jabotinsky fought for a Jewish state despite all obstacles, at a time when that struggle was unpopular. He is a great inspiration to us Serbs and to Republika Srpska, where Europe continues to suppress even our basic autonomy and deny us elementary democratic rights. This award is significant for me, for my people, and for Republika Srpska. In this context, it brings us closer to Jabotinsky, who is almost identical and equally necessary for us as well—the struggle for the rights of a people must be among the highest priorities at all times,’ Dodik said.”
“Dodik sharply criticized what he described as rising antisemitism in Europe, singling out Sarajevo and the political institutions of Bosnian Muslims, the Jerusalem Post reports.”

“‘I am rightly expressing deep concern over the growing antisemitism in Europe, particularly in Sarajevo, the main Muslim city in the Balkans. Israel is the cradle of Judeo-Christianity, which is increasingly under attack by liberal elites, as well as by what we are witnessing today in the West through migrations that bring people of the Islamic faith who carry antisemitism with them. Israel is a small state, constantly demonized by false media in the West. Those who today issue such accusations are making claims that do not stand. We have a firm history, and I am proud of the heritage that Serbs preserve in the Balkans. That is why it is often said—and we feel it ourselves—that Republika Srpska is the Israel of the Balkans,’ Dodik emphasized.”
“He cited the cancellation of a planned conference of European rabbis in Sarajevo and alleged decisions regarding Jewish cultural funds as evidence of what he claimed is deeply rooted antisemitism unrelated to the policies of the Israeli government.”
“‘During the war in Gaza, the Muslim government and Muslims in Sarajevo canceled the conference of European rabbis in Sarajevo and announced that revenues from the Sarajevo Haggadah, which they hold in their possession, would be sent to Hamas in Gaza. This shows that antisemitism is deeply rooted in the social and political fabric of Sarajevo and Muslims in that area,’ Dodik said.”
“He stressed that there is an ongoing effort to destroy Jewish religion and history, and that Jews and Israel are being wrongly identified.”
“‘They want Israel as a state to disappear, because they know there is no Jewish people without its own state. The same applies to us Serbs—if we do not have our own state, we have no freedom. We saw this during the Second World War, from the Nazis and the Ustaša, when we witnessed the greatest crime against Jews and Serbs in the Balkans at the Jasenovac camp,’ Dodik said.”
“Dodik pointed out that part of Europe has surrendered to mass Islamic migration and reconciled itself with the domestic antisemitism that migration has brought.”
“‘European elites, through a liberal approach, are destroying sovereignty and identity. They lightly allow a Muslim worldview in Europe to dominate local public opinion. Republika Srpska opposes migration and antisemitism, and we must control our own borders. Unfortunately, that is not possible now, because our borders are jointly controlled by EU personnel who accepted migrants, along with Muslims who call on migrants—that is, their brothers in faith—to come and create as broad a platform as possible to fight against Orthodox Christian Serbs, promoting antisemitism and, through that, fighting against the Jewish people and their state,’ Dodik emphasized.”
“He added that Minister Chikli had also spoken about the fact that antisemitism does not recognize integration, but rather disintegration and destruction.”
“‘That is why both Israel and we are equally exposed to anti-Serb propaganda, which can be equated with antisemitism. Like Israel, we signed a peace agreement in the 1990s, but in our case that agreement was distorted. Only our concessions remained. Everything that was promised to us was taken away. All our rights were stripped and transferred to Sarajevo, to be managed by Bosnian Muslims. There are many parallels between Israel and Republika Srpska—this is why they consider Republika Srpska to be the Israel of the Balkans,’ Dodik said.”
“He stressed that European leaders today have no standards and that double standards exist in certain situations.”
“‘Of course it is clear that double standards exist. The United Nations and the European Union are irreparably biased against Israel. All normal rules cease to apply when it comes to Israel, and the same applies to Republika Srpska. For 30 years, Bosnia and Herzegovina has been governed by a European administrator appointed by Europe. Overnight, we are told that some German has arrived to run our lives, with powers granted to impose laws, imprison people, and strip political mandates in an effort to eliminate political representatives, violating the Dayton Agreement and all previously reached accords. Both Israel and we have learned that if we accept being a colony, there will be nothing left of us. That is why I am very proud of both Israel and Republika Srpska, because they fight, persist, and defend the truth, which alone can prevail,’ Dodik emphasized.”
“He also commented on the policies of U.S. President Donald Trump.”
“‘I must say that we supported Donald Trump—both during the American campaign and especially for a second term. Our trust in President Trump has paid off. He is exactly what we expected. In our view, he is a man who saves the world, restores tradition and normality, strengthens and promotes the economy, and opposes every form of exploitation and oppression of Christians, just as he opposes any oppression of Muslims anywhere in the world. President Trump is the hope of humanity, and I believe that together with Putin and Netanyahu he will define the framework of future global processes and contribute to a stable peace based on cooperation,’ Dodik said.”
“He stressed that Donald Trump is not only a man of peace, but also a man of justice who establishes fairness and eliminates injustice.”
“‘Because we supported him, Democrats imposed sanctions on me and my associates, but Trump’s people recognized this and lifted them. They were unjust and inhumane. That is not the America we know. That is why Trump wants America to return to itself, and we agree with that. We want to support all his efforts regarding Israel, to establish peace in Gaza, and to eliminate any possibility that Hamas could re-emerge in the future. I hope he will see the injustice being done to us and help put an end to it. He won in America, but he still has to defeat old powers at the global level,’ Dodik said.”
“He added that he also supports Trump’s policy regarding Greenland.”
“‘This shows how unprincipled European elites are—when they bombed my people and took Kosovo, that was acceptable, but now they invoke legality and claim that Greenland is unacceptable. I have always wondered why Greenland did not long ago become part of America. I understand what President Trump is saying,’ Dodik concluded.”
