We came to Israel to hold meetings with our key partners—the President and Prime Minister of Israel, government ministers, and the foreign minister—and to be a guest of the Israeli parliament, where I will be presented with a medal awarded to foreigners at the highest level, said Milorad Dodik, leader of SNSD.
Dodik stressed that the visit confirms the long-standing and unquestionable friendship between Republika Srpska and Israel.
“We will discuss current developments, reaffirming our friendship, which is unquestionable and has lasted for years. We believe that Israel—the country and the Jewish people—have the right to their freedom, to their state, and to respond to anything that threatens that freedom,” Dodik said.
He noted that Israel has endured difficult times and recalled the terrorist attack of October 7, in which 1,400 people—mostly young—were killed, underscoring the brutality of Hamas, where women, children, the elderly, and civilians were not spared.
“Ordinary people working in the fields were killed, and what we must remember is that at a concert attended mostly by young people, more than 500 were killed on the spot. They could not recognize that an attack was underway, and that left a strong impression on me, which naturally shapes my broader political views,” Dodik said.
He emphasized that Israel is a state fighting for its freedom and has the right to do so.
“We understand this because, in a way, the enemy is almost identical—extreme, motivated by political Islam, seeking to organize society solely according to their own vision, with no room for others or differences. We witnessed this when various mujahideen were brought in from around the world. And today we must not be complacent, because in Bosnia and Herzegovina—especially within Muslim communities—there are many who were part of the Islamic State and have now returned. We must take this seriously,” Dodik said.
He added that talks in Israel will cover all forms of cooperation.
“Above all, the exchange of security and other data. Israel is a leader in security technologies, and we will discuss ways to apply some of these solutions at home. In any case, I am pleased to be here today and to have a meeting with the President tomorrow and with the Prime Minister on Wednesday.”
Dodik said there is a high level of mutual understanding between Republika Srpska and Israel.
“We remain committed to the policy of a free Israel and a freely functioning state, in which Jews will organize their country as they see fit. I also want to brief my interlocutors on the situation in Republika Srpska. An imposed shackle called Bosnia and Herzegovina has been placed on us—it is not something we desire,” Dodik said.
He argued that global elites structured the arrangement to eliminate Republika Srpska, the Serbian people, and Christianity in that space, in order to covertly strengthen the Muslim component of Bosnia and Herzegovina and make life impossible for Christians there, reports ATV.
“I believe there are many elements that support this view, and I expect understanding. These are friends. Of course, they face many challenges, but at this moment we need understanding and support. We believe we share the same values of the modern world: a state for its people—free people—who know that without a state there is no freedom,” Dodik concluded.
