The ninth St. Sava Ball will be held on Friday at 7:00 PM in the Concert Hall of the Banski Dvor in Banja Luka, organized by the Cultural and Artistic Society “Sveti Sava,” with the support of the City of Banja Luka.
According to the organizers, preparations for this event are being successfully completed.
This event represents a true opportunity for visitors to become part of a rich tradition through a diverse program that includes urban dances, folk dances (kola), old-town songs, and traditional Serbian melodies, as well as to dance the waltz.
“The St. Sava Ball stands out as an important cultural event that positions Banja Luka as a prominent cultural capital of the Balkans, alongside cities such as Belgrade or Vienna. From year to year, we strive to refresh and enrich the program. This year’s ball will be made magical in its own unique way by actor Milan Kalinić, who is our special guest,” said the originator of the event and secretary of the Cultural and Artistic Society “Sveti Sava,” Damir Jovanić.
According to Jovanić, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the talents of Milan Kalinić, including the performance of songs and the recitation of poetry, which will further emphasize the significance of the St. Sava Ball, the tradition of gathering, and showcase the strength of artistic spirit while bringing a touch of glamour.
The organizer of the St. Sava Ball, the Cultural and Artistic Society “Sveti Sava,” is dedicated to preserving and nurturing the rich tradition of its ancestors, which has lasted for several centuries.
In addition to the Cultural and Artistic Society “Sveti Sava,” the program will feature students of the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka – the accordion ensemble, the Historical Dance Enthusiasts Club from Belgrade, ANIP “Veselin Masleša,” the Cultural and Artistic Society “Piskavica,” the Cultural and Artistic Society “Čajavec,” and RKUD “Pelagić.” Solo performances will be given by Prof. Karolina Mihajlović, Jelena Živković Kostić, Aleksandar Dulić, Saša Oljča, and Damjan Stijaković.
The program has been carefully designed to allow everyone to enjoy a variety of cultural content and actively participate, thus creating an unforgettable atmosphere. All visitors are required to adhere to the dress code: ladies in long gowns and men in formal suits, Jovanić emphasized.
