The International Tourism Fair was held in Vienna, where the tourism offer of Republika Srpska was also presented.
Mladen Filipović, Head of the Republika Srpska Representative Office in Austria, said on RTRS’s Morning Program that the fair, which attracts more than 150,000 visitors, demonstrated that Republika Srpska has become a significant tourist destination that should be further utilized.
“At the Republika Srpska stand, several tourist organizations, spa resorts, and the Olympic Center ‘Jahorina’ were presented. The Austrian public is interested in active holidays, which is something we can offer. That is how we sought to present the tourism offer of Republika Srpska. Last year alone, overnight stays by guests from Austria in Republika Srpska increased by 12 percent, which is a significant growth that should be capitalized on,” Filipović said.
The winter tourism offer is very attractive, especially Jahorina, which is more affordable than winter holidays in Austria, a fact tourists are increasingly taking advantage of.
“The city of Trebinje, through its location and promotion, is actively involved in presenting Republika Srpska and will be a very active destination for Austrians in the future,” Filipović emphasized.
Regular participation of Republika Srpska at tourism fairs shows that it is an attractive and safe destination and that it is worth investing here.
“In the spring, we expect new investors, and those already present are our greatest ambassadors. They readily respond to various events in Vienna, thereby creating a positive image of our Republic,” Filipović noted.
