It is important that an increasing number of voices can be clearly heard on the need to protect the property of Republika Srpska, said SNSD President Milorad Dodik.
“That issue is not subject to bargaining, compromise or negotiation — property is the foundation of our constitutional position and our right to self-governance. That is why I welcome and support the position of the group of independent intellectuals led by Petar Kunić, who insist that Republika Srpska must not give up its property,” Dodik wrote on X.
He noted that throughout Europe and the world, property is a fundamental attribute of every autonomous community: Catalonia, South Tyrol, Flanders, Scotland, and the German and U.S. federal states — all have clearly defined property and competencies.
“This is the standard, not the exception. Republika Srpska is not asking for anything different from what exists everywhere else: to manage its own land, forests, rivers, roads, and territory that belongs to it under the Constitution. This is not a political topic but a basic right,” Dodik said.
He emphasized that the property of Republika Srpska is not up for discussion.
“It is the guarantee of our stability and existence. And it will remain so,” Dodik wrote.
