“I am pleased that my friend, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, has reached an agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump allowing Hungary to continue using energy supplies from Russia — thereby protecting his country’s economy,” said SNSD President Milorad Dodik.
“President Trump and Prime Minister Orbán are global leaders dedicated to peace, who respect their partners. When two statesmen like them — who put the interests of their nations and people first — sit down to talk, agreements can be achieved,” Dodik wrote on the social platform X.
He emphasized that pragmatism must prevail over prejudice.
Orbán and Trump met today at the White House, where they discussed U.S. sanctions, the war in Ukraine, and a possible future meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Following the talks, Orbán announced at a press conference that Hungary had received a full exemption from U.S. sanctions that had previously hindered oil and gas deliveries from Russia.
