President Milorad Dodik met today in Minsk with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Speaking to RTRS after the official meeting, Dodik said the main topic of discussion was the upcoming session of the UN Security Council, where it was agreed that the mandate of the EUFOR Althea mission should be extended — a decision Russia will support.
“In the past, we had certain objections related to the mission’s tendency to respond to requests from Muslims in BiH, but this will be discussed within the Security Council session,” Dodik noted.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining regular meetings of this kind, recalling that their previous discussion was held in Moscow and now in Minsk, during the International Security Conference.
Dodik said they also discussed the position of the so-called high representative, “who is not a legitimate high representative.”
“It is already known that, together with representatives of the Russian Embassy, we will work on aligning the report,” Dodik stated.
He added that he informed Lavrov about the political and economic situation in Republika Srpska, stressing that the situation is stable.
“They are fully aware of all the details regarding the politically motivated proceedings,” Dodik said.
He noted that the meeting was also an opportunity to thank Lavrov and discuss bilateral and other relations of great importance for Republika Srpska.
“We continue to maintain a high level of strategic cooperation,” Dodik emphasized, adding that both sides agreed on all open issues.
Dodik pointed out the “decadent behavior” of political Sarajevo, which maintains a negative stance toward Russia, reaffirming that Republika Srpska will not impose any sanctions on the Russian Federation and will, to the extent possible, work to prevent Muslim political representatives from attempting to send weapons to Ukraine.
He also recalled the false narratives coming from political Sarajevo regarding NATO membership, stressing that Republika Srpska does not accept joining NATO, given the bombing and all that has happened.
