Nenad Stevandić, President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, stated today in Banja Luka that the three parliamentary deputies of the first convocation of the National Assembly, who were killed at the beginning of the establishment of Republika Srpska, were not military targets, but were solely engaged in politics and the protection of their own people.
Stevandić emphasized that these were individuals who were the first to raise their hands for the creation of Republika Srpska and consequently lost their lives.
“They voted for the first Constitution and for the Army of Republika Srpska, and I want to thank all of you who are alive and well for that,” Stevandić emphasized during the unveiling of the busts of the first parliamentary deputies of the Srpska parliament, Milutin Najdanović, Goran Zekić, and Milovan Bjelošević.
He reminded that Najdanović was killed by criminals in Sarajevo, and many of them or their families were certainly saved by him as a prominent Sarajevo doctor.
“Bjelošević was killed by a sniper shot in the back while trying to help a wounded soldier 300 meters from his home. Zekić was killed in an ambush as a civilian on a bend between Srebrenica and Bratunac by people who probably still lead politics in Sarajevo and decide on Srebrenica issues,” Stevandić stated.
He emphasized that people like Najdanović, Zekić, and Bjelošević should not be forgotten.
Family members of the three parliamentary deputies of the first convocation of the National Assembly, who were killed at the beginning of the establishment of Republika Srpska, unveiled their busts, while the President of the Republic and the National Assembly of Srpska, Milorad Dodik and Nenad Stevandić, unveiled memorial plaques and the coat of arms over which the deputies pledged allegiance to Srpska.
