A conference and fair marking the International Day of Rural Women is being held at the Administrative Center of the Government of Republika Srpska, highlighting the work and empowerment of rural women through the presentation of their associations and homemade products.
According to UN data, rural women make up a quarter of the world’s population, working as farmers, laborers, and entrepreneurs.
Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić emphasized that women are the backbone of society and will always have the support of the Government.
“Since 2009 or 2010, when only about five percent of farm owners were women, that number has now risen to over 20 percent. We must ensure that women have an easier life in rural areas and better conditions for managing farms,” Minić said.
Addressing the women who presented their handcrafted and traditional products at the fair, he praised their role in family life and community building, reiterating that they will always have the support of the Government of Republika Srpska.
