Kaluža: UN Security Council to be informed about Schmidt’s violation of the Dayton Agreement

International relations expert Luciano Kaluža stated that the Dayton Peace Agreement has been undermined by the actions of the unelected foreigner Christian Schmidt, about which Republika Srpska will submit a report to the UN Security Council, to be presented by Russia at the session scheduled for the end of October.

“It is important that Republika Srpska presents the real situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina through this report. It is also significant that other countries will be informed through their ministries of foreign affairs, given that the report will be publicly distributed during the session of the UN’s highest body,” Kaluža emphasized.

He noted that Republika Srpska is fully committed to upholding the Dayton Peace Agreement, but that Schmidt’s actions have seriously disrupted the constitutional order, the division of powers, and the rights of the constituent peoples guaranteed by the agreement.

“Republika Srpska supports the Dayton Agreement. Presenting this report is one of the ways to inform the UN Security Council that Schmidt has violated the Dayton framework,” Kaluža said.

He described the move as a diplomatic and political innovation, aimed at presenting an objective overview of the situation and preventing one-sided actions and reports, as has previously been the case.

“I am not sure if it has ever happened before that one country presents to the UN Security Council a report on the situation in another — in this case, the report of Republika Srpska on the state of affairs in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Kaluža remarked.

The UN Security Council session on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is scheduled for October 31.
