Academician Rajko Kuzmanović expressed his conviction that in the referendum to be scheduled by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, the voice of the people will prevail, that is, law and justice, pointing out that the citizens of Srpska have repeatedly shown that they stand behind the institution of the President of the Republic.
Kuzmanović said that Srpska is entering a phase of struggle for constitutionality and legality, for democracy and the democratic forms it exercises, which is why the voice of the people must be respected, assessing that it is strongest and most valid when expressed through a referendum and plebiscite.
– The citizens of Republika Srpska will, with their vote, confirm that it is a permanent category, regulated by the constitution, proclaimed by the people and maintained by them. The President of Srpska is only its collective servant, because politics must be such that it answers to the citizens, and not to uninvited and unelected individuals. Srpska and its citizens have repeatedly shown that they stand behind their president and the institution of the president – Kuzmanović emphasized.
Kuzmanović, who is a professor of Constitutional Law, said that a referendum performs a constitutional function and conveys that Srpska is a democratic state which always strives to show that it defends constitutional principles, rights, and freedoms of its citizens.
In Republika Srpska, following the ruling of the unconstitutional Court of BiH against the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, a referendum should be held based on the decision of the National Assembly of Srpska.
