The Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, told SRNA that it is almost entertaining to watch Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković, “who once again understands nothing,” as evidenced by his latest attempt at bravado.
When asked to comment on Konaković’s statement in which he publicly admits they “toured the whole world” so that President Dodik would end up “where he belonged a long time ago,” Cvijanović responded that “Konaković keeps confirming exactly what we from Republika Srpska have been saying all along—that both the disgraceful proceedings and verdicts against President Milorad Dodik are politically motivated.”
“First, he pressured the Court and threatened protests in case of an acquittal, and now he publicly boasts that the President of Srpska is in this position—convicted—supposedly because Konaković went globe-trotting. This has nothing to do with the Constitution, laws, or the rule of law, but everything to do with a politically weaponized judiciary that acts in accordance with the will of an unelected foreigner, not in accordance with the law,” Cvijanović emphasized.
She added that she is unsure whether Konaković acts out of ignorance, unconsciousness, or self-promotion, “but in any case, he confirms all the arguments of officials from Republika Srpska and perfectly illustrates the absurdity of such a judiciary—and of this state.”
