Christian Schmidt and the Office of the High Representative (OHR) are the generators of crisis, and it is very important that all citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina understand this, said sociologist and full professor at the University of East Sarajevo, Dragomir Vuković, appearing on RTRS morning program.
“The role of Schmidt and the OHR is highly destructive. I regret that political Sarajevo believes these structures will strengthen their position while weakening—and ultimately aiming to destroy—Republika Srpska. The fact that they act as an extended arm of the OHR, through the incomplete Constitutional Court and certain political groups from Srpska, causes the greatest harm to Bosnia and Herzegovina itself,” Vuković emphasized.
According to him, BiH lacks internal synergy to recover.
“We have not built a value system. We are a society that rests on the ruins of war, and we have politicized everything that is dysfunctional. We say we want to be a modern state that will one day join the EU, yet we act in complete contradiction. For example, July brings Srebrenica, and immediately, society retreats into its trenches. That’s not the way forward. I’m not very optimistic that things will get better,” Vuković added.
