Trišić Babić: Slashed tires of Serbian tourists in Sarajevo are a consequence of Konaković’s anti-Serb campaign

Ana Trišić Babić, Acting Director of the Republika Srpska Office for International Cooperation, has accused BiH Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković of creating an anti-Serb atmosphere, linking his political rhetoric to an incident in Sarajevo in which the tires of a vehicle registered in Serbia were punctured.

“Konaković, here are the results of your anti-Serb campaign. You expel Serbian diplomats, poison the atmosphere during the election campaign, and now we see tourists from Serbia having their tires punctured in Sarajevo. Congratulations, Minister,” Trišić Babić wrote on X.

She added that, as an “incorrigible optimist,” she was willing to leave open the possibility that the incident had instead been caused by a neighborhood parking dispute.

The incident occurred in Sarajevo’s Breka neighborhood during the night between Sunday and Monday, when an unidentified individual punctured two tires on a car bearing Belgrade registration plates.

The vehicle’s owner, a Serbian citizen who has frequently visited Sarajevo over the past three years, confirmed the incident to the Klix news portal.

The motive behind the vandalism has not been established, and no evidence has been presented linking the incident directly to Konaković’s political statements.
