Dodik for Austrian “Profil”: I am not a warmonger, Republika Srpska has no such plans

President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated in an interview for the Austrian magazine Profil that he is not a warmonger, that Republika Srpska has no war-related plans, but claimed that Muslims in BiH do want war again.

Dodik emphasized that he is not leading a war, nor is Republika Srpska planning one, stressing that he is only fighting for the rights of his people.

He accused Christian Schmidt and “the Muslims” of being against him and certain Serb politicians, saying they would prefer to put the entire Serb population into concentration camps like during World War II.

“At that time, many Muslims, together with Croats in the ranks of the fascist Ustaše, persecuted Serbs. Muslims in BiH want war again. They want to bring jihadists here and implement Sharia law. And it seems some people in Europe are okay with that,” Dodik claimed, adding that he personally hopes no one ever has to experience war again.

Asked what would happen if someone tried to arrest him, Dodik responded that Republika Srpska has its own structures, institutions, police forces, and a department tasked with protecting certain individuals—he being one of them.

“Republika Srpska is a stable system, not a group of rebels,” he underlined.

He repeated that Bosnia and Herzegovina must dissolve because it is not sustainable, pointing out that the people in BiH do not want to live together.

“You can’t force us into the illusion called BiH. You can’t make us stop loving Serbia. BiH is an insatiable beast fed by illusions from Brussels,” said Dodik.

He again stated that Europe currently has no real leaders, and that since former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, no one has been able to make real decisions.

“The EU can’t even solve its own local problems, let alone those of others. Europe is deeply divided. We are still in favor of EU integration, although we believe in it less and less,” Dodik said.

He claimed that former U.S. President Donald Trump is not concerned with this region and expressed approval of recent American moves, such as cutting USAID funding.

“We need a neutral America that understands we must make our own decisions,” Dodik added.

Regarding Austria’s entry ban against him, Dodik said he will do everything to ensure the Serbian community in Austria organizes and expresses its political will.

“There are 300,000 Serbs living in Austria. We Serbs are political anarchists and not easy to control. But sometimes, there are moments when we unite. We will see what impact that has on Austria,” he concluded.
