Ćeranić: Interpol’s decision proves that Dodik is subject to political persecution

Dean of the Faculty of Security Studies at the University of Banja Luka, Predrag Ćeranić, stated that the unconstitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a politically motivated decision in the case against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik. He emphasized that Interpol’s refusal to issue a red notice against Republika Srpska officials should be viewed in that same context.

“The Interpol Constitution prohibits issuing politically motivated notices, and this decision is further proof that President Dodik is being subjected to political persecution,” Ćeranić told SRNA.

He questioned how else one could interpret the fact that a decision by Christian Schmidt—a foreigner who lacks the UN Security Council’s mandate to act as high representative—was used as the basis for initiating criminal proceedings.

“This is yet more evidence that everything happening to Dodik, Stevandić, and [Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan] Višković is politically motivated and must be understood exclusively in a political context,” Ćeranić assessed.

According to him, the way out of the political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina lies in internal dialogue, discussion, and a political solution.

Yesterday, Interpol rejected the request by the unconstitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to issue red notices for President Milorad Dodik and National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić.
