The Minister for European Integration and International Cooperation of Republika Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, participated today in the conference “Diplomatic Careers and Opportunities for Young People to Return to Republika Srpska from Abroad,” organized by the Federation of Young Serbs in Europe in Paris.
Addressing around 70 young participants, who are studying in France and other European countries, Klokić emphasized the importance of organizing such events. He noted that the government of Republika Srpska is working on several key policies and documents aimed at creating opportunities for citizens to consider returning from abroad.
“Two years ago, we established a diaspora registry to identify individuals in the category of specialists and highly educated professionals. However, to attract these people to consider returning to Srpska, we began designing a long-term development strategy aimed at creating high-paying, competitive jobs attractive to young professionals abroad, with support from the private sector,” Klokić stated.
Klokić presented Republika Srpska’s potential to the gathered students, highlighting that it is becoming an increasingly progressive society with a favorable business environment, low tax rates, and a relatively unsaturated market for new business models and ideas.
“The process of EU accession, societal transformation, and access to EU funds can be excellent tools for professional development, income, and contributions to the development of municipalities and cities throughout Republika Srpska. Here, the younger generation has an advantage, as educated young people are essential for reform and innovation,” Klokić concluded.
The Federation of Young Serbs in Europe has, for years, been bringing together young people from the diaspora, providing them a platform to engage with prominent leaders on important topics.
Along with Klokić, the BiH ambassador to France, Bojana Kondić Panić, also attended the conference.
