Defense request for the recusal of Judge Sena Uzunović rejected

The Criminal Chamber of the Court of BiH has rejected the request by the defense of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, for the recusal of Judge Sena Uzunović, according to a statement from the Court of BiH.

The Criminal Chamber issued a decision yesterday, dismissing the request by Dodik’s defense attorney, Goran Bubić, as inadmissible.

The defense had submitted the request on October 9 for the recusal of Uzunović, the presiding judge in the case against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the Official Gazette, Miloš Lukić. The Prosecutor’s Office charges them with “failing to implement the decisions of Christian Schmidt.”

The recusal of Uzunović was requested during the hearing before the Court of BiH on October 9 because she did not allow clarification on whether the notification about evidence from the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH had been delivered to the defense.

Following the latest hearing, Bubić stated that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is attempting to introduce evidence that would not be accepted in any court.

  • “The evidence in question is Annex 10, which hasn’t been introduced for months and supports the defense, but the Prosecutor’s Office, in its replication of evidence, is trying to push through a document that is not credible and was downloaded from the UN website,” Bubić said.
