President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik emphasized that the trial against him is a continuation of a politically motivated process.
“We have evidence that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is avoiding and evading. This is all a farce,” Dodik stated after today’s hearing in the case against him and the acting director of the Official Gazette of Republika Srpska, Miloš Lukić, for “disrespecting the decisions of Christian Schmidt.”
He added that today’s testimony demonstrated just how pointless this process is.
“Those who were in a rush to conclude this process are now putting pressure on the Court of BiH,” Dodik added.
He pointed out that it will be interesting to see whether the final verdict will be legal or political.
He questioned what kind of democracy it is if the Prosecutor’s Office and Court of BiH operate under pressure from foreign embassies.
“The Prosecutor’s Office must operate in accordance with the law, in line with the facts,” Dodik stated.
Dodik also questioned why three hearings are being scheduled now, during the election campaign.
“This is a direct interference in the election campaign because, as the party leader, I need to visit over 70 locations and participate in more than 100 rallies. I cannot do that. They are harassing me. They are unconstitutional, just like Schmidt,” Dodik concluded.
