Tadić: UN Charter Represents Universal Heritage Violated by Schmidt

The UN, their Charter, and other documents represent a universal heritage and a source of values upon which the law can be built by anyone individually, let alone Republika Srpska, which was recognized by the UN as one of the two constitutive entities of Dayton BiH, stated legal expert Ognjen Tadić.

Tadić emphasized that regardless of whether these documents are referenced by an American president or done so by Russian President Vladimir Putin or Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, as was the case over the past seven days, such referencing must be respected.

“People who violate the UN Charter, such as Christian Schmidt and a number of other foreigners in BiH, simply must be aware that they are on the wrong side in relation to all the best that today’s civilization cherishes,” concluded Tadić.

President Dodik, in his recent column, highlighted the foundations of BiH in international law and the authentic interpretation of the UN Charter in the Declaration on Principles of International Law concerning Friendly Relations and Cooperation among States in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations.

Dodik reminded that, according to this declaration, the principles of international law of a general nature include the principles of non-intervention, equality and self-determination of peoples, and the sovereign equality of states, which have been violated in numerous instances in BiH.
