Delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Snježana Novaković Bursać, has been elected as the Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, as announced today by the parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On this occasion, Bursać stated that it is crucial, especially in these crisis times when significant geopolitical shifts are evident, to maintain an atmosphere for dialogue and the exchange of diverse perspectives.
“The Council of Europe has made a significant contribution to the development of dialogue and established human rights as a crucial element in every society, and that role must be preserved,” said Bursać.
As Vice President of the PACE, she chaired a discussion in Strasbourg this week on the topic of ‘Allegations of Systematic Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment in Detention Units in Europe.'”
