Borac Banja Luka has travelled to Moldova, where the Bosnian side will face Petrocub in the second leg of the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round on Thursday in Chișinău.
Borac heads into the return fixture with a commanding 3–0 advantage from the first leg and is looking to secure a place in the third qualifying round.
The Banja Luka club travels with confidence following its convincing home victory but remains focused on completing the task. Despite the comfortable lead, the coaching staff and players insist there is no room for complacency.
Midfielder Sandi Ogrinec believes Borac demonstrated its quality in the opening match but stressed that qualification has yet to be secured.
“We’re pleased with the result from the first match, although the margin could have been even greater. We’re going there to finish the job. I hope we’ll have more space to play. We need to be smart and score as early as possible to control the game until the end. The atmosphere in the squad is excellent, and we’re building a new winning mentality,” Ogrinec said.
Borac’s coaching staff has few selection concerns ahead of the match. Captain Srđan Grahovac remains sidelined through injury, while the rest of the squad is available.
“A 3–0 lead is a significant advantage. We’ll try to score early and effectively settle the tie. Petrocub played very defensively in Banja Luka, but we expect them to be more open at home, which should create opportunities for us to exploit,” assistant coach Boris Raspudić said.
The second leg will kick off at 19:00 at Zimbru Stadium in Chișinău.
Should Borac protect its aggregate lead, the club is expected to face Vitebsk of Belarus in the third qualifying round. Vitebsk takes a 3–0 advantage into its second-leg tie against Sutjeska.
