According to information available to the public, 11 gravestones have been destroyed at a Serb Christian cemetery in the village of Trnovac near Travnik, the Committee for the Protection of Serb Rights in the Federation of BiH said.
“The Serb Christian chapel was also damaged. During the war, the village of Trnovac near Novi Travnik was controlled by the 7th Corps of the so-called Army of BiH, a predominantly Muslim army,” the Committee said.
According to official data from the 1991 population census cited by the Committee, Trnovac had 92 Serb residents, while no Muslims or Croats were recorded as living in the village.
“We call on the cantonal Interior Ministry headquartered in Travnik to urgently arrest those responsible for this criminal offense,” the Committee said.
The Committee also noted that the Travnik police have yet to determine who fired shots at and damaged a cross in the village of Zaselje near Travnik in May this year.
