President of Republika Srpska Siniša Karan awarded Israeli Minister for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Amichai Chikli the Order of the Flag of Republika Srpska with a Golden Wreath.
Karan also awarded Israeli Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Galit Peleg the Order of the Flag of Republika Srpska with a Silver Wreath.
The decorations were presented as an expression of deep appreciation for their efforts to foster strong relations between Republika Srpska and Israel.
Karan said that Republika Srpska and Israel would continue their cooperation in the future, emphasizing the mutual understanding and increasingly close ties between the two sides.
“It is a great honor for me to present decorations to people who have contributed to the good relations between Republika Srpska and Israel. We are developing our relations and we understand each other,” Karan said.
He noted that Republika Srpska and Israel have created new opportunities for cooperation and have already achieved concrete results.
Karan also recalled the suffering of the Jewish and Serbian peoples during the Second World War, stating that the Holocaust was committed against the Jewish people and genocide against Serbs.
Prior to the award ceremony, delegations from Republika Srpska and Israel held a meeting at the Palace of the Republic.
The meeting was also attended by Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić, Milorad Dodik, Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić, and ministers in the Government of Republika Srpska.
