Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said that Republika Srpska had the honor of hosting Israeli writer Iddo Netanyahu at the promotion of his book Yoni’s Last Battle.
According to Dodik, the book tells the story of courage, sacrifice, and a man who gave his life for his people.
“It is an honor to welcome such a distinguished guest to Republika Srpska. Our peoples understand one another because both Serbs and Jews have endured struggle, suffering, and the fight to defend the right to exist on their own land,” Dodik wrote on the social media platform X.
He added that during his visit to Banja Luka, Iddo Netanyahu said that Israel holds the Serbian people in high regard because of the assistance they provided to Jews during the Second World War.
“That is not a coincidence—it reflects history and character. Republika Srpska values Israel and its people. Friendship built on sacrifice, honor, and mutual respect lasts far longer than day-to-day politics. We cherish those ties and will continue to strengthen them,” Dodik stated.
