Premiere of “The Son” scheduled for late September

Work has begun at the National Theatre of Republika Srpska on a new production for the Petar Kočić Stage, based on “The Son” by contemporary French playwright Florian Zeller. The text was translated by Ivana Dimić.

The production is directed by Belinda Stijak, with the premiere scheduled for late September this year.

“The Son” is a powerful and emotional drama that explores the complex issues of growing up, loneliness and mutual understanding, opening themes that concern contemporary society and the challenges faced by both parents and children.

The creative team includes dramaturge Aleksandar Vasiljević, set designer Sara Stjepanović, costume designer Vladimirka Velaga, composer Bojan Stijak, language editor Nataša Kecman and producer Katarina Lazić. The production also involves psychology consultant Prof. Dr. Milica Drobac Pravićević and psychiatry consultant Ognjen Beatović, a psychiatry resident.

The cast includes Ilija Ivanović, Boris Šavija, Nataša Perić, Snježana Mišić, Vladimir Đorđević and Rok Radiša.

With the start of work on this production, the National Theatre of Republika Srpska continues its commitment to bringing significant works of contemporary world literature to its audience.
