The OK Book Zone will once again serve as a meeting place for literature, music and audiences as part of Jelen OK Fest in Tjentište. Visitors can look forward to appearances by musician and writer Mile Kekin, who will present his book “Soundtrack for Life”, and author Šimun Cimerman with his work “The Battle of Sutjeska – Hell in Paradise”.
Through its OK Book Zone programme, Jelen OK Fest continues to bring together music, nature and culture, creating a space for conversations with authors and the exchange of ideas among literature enthusiasts.
On Saturday, July 18, visitors will have the opportunity to meet Mile Kekin, musician, songwriter and author of “Soundtrack for Life”. The book combines autobiographical writings, diary fragments and songs created over nearly four decades of artistic work. Through personal stories, memories and lyrics that have marked generations of listeners, Kekin offers an intimate insight into life, music and the era that shaped the regional rock scene.
Particular attention will also be given to the promotion of “The Battle of Sutjeska – Hell in Paradise” by Šimun Cimerman, scheduled for Sunday, July 19. The book explores one of the most significant battles of the Second World War in this region and tells the story of the development of the Partisan movement from a small guerrilla unit into a powerful army capable of defeating occupying forces.
Drawing on historical facts, authentic documents and testimonies of participants, Cimerman reconstructs the dramatic events and the destinies of the people who lived through them. It is precisely in the area of Sutjeska National Park, where the history itself unfolded, that a discussion of this book gains special significance and symbolism.
Set in the unique surroundings of Sutjeska National Park, the OK Book Zone once again confirms that Jelen OK Fest is not only a music festival, but also a place of dialogue, culture and encounters with authors whose stories leave a lasting impression.
The organizers invite all literature lovers to join the programme and enjoy a unique festival experience in Tjentište. One-day and three-day tickets, as well as festival camp packages, are available through ticket sales systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia.
More information is available on the festival’s official website.
