Elek: Support for RTRS journalist; I tell the Prosecutor’s Office and SIPA that he is not guilty of anything

I want to express my support for Jasenko Todorović and tell the Prosecutor’s Office and SIPA that the RTRS journalist is not guilty of anything. If anyone is responsible, then it is me. I said what I said, and I stand behind it, said Nedeljko Elek, who at the time served as chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Jahorina Olympic Centre.

“It appears that freedom of speech does not exist anywhere in Bosnia and Herzegovina. You cannot express your position and opinion in a discussion programme such as the one in which I appeared together with Marinko Božović,” Elek said.

“We have reached a red line. Either they will silence us, or they will not. I am not someone who stays silent, and I will not stay silent. Once again, I say that you are not guilty, the cameraman is not guilty, nor is RTRS. But I have the right to express my opinion. Can my opinion be prohibited by a former High Representative who, on the final day of his mandate, imposed a decision that never went through a parliamentary procedure at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina? I do not believe it can,” Elek stated.

He added that if people continue to retreat and follow the path of least resistance, the matter will not end here.

“There is pressure on RTRS, with the aim of shutting it down and preventing us from saying anything. They would like to have only BHRT at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that is the direction they are pursuing if we do not resist,” Elek concluded.
