At the premises of the Handball Federation of Republika Srpska, president Marinko Umičević presented two major upcoming events from the handball calendar in Republika Srpska.
The first topic concerned the upcoming final of the 30th Republika Srpska Cup, where Borac Banja Luka and MRK Sloga Doboj will face each other. Sloga are the defending champions after winning last year’s 29th edition of the competition.
The final match will be played in Banja Luka on May 21, 2026, at the Sports Hall “Centar,” starting at 6 p.m.
Umičević stated that valuable trophies, medals and prize money have been secured for both finalists. The winning team will receive 3,000 KM, while the runner-up will be awarded 2,000 KM.
The second topic of the conference was the organization of the 3rd Youth League Gathering, the final tournament of all youth leagues of Republika Srpska in both men’s and women’s competitions, scheduled for May 24, 2026.
The finals will be held in Banja Luka, with matches played in three sports halls — Centar, Lauš and Kampus.
Around 500 children from all parts of Republika Srpska are expected to participate, while lunch packages have been secured for all competitors. Accommodation has also been provided for around 70 young handball players from the Herzegovina-Romanija region so they can arrive a day earlier and prepare for the tournament.
The federation has also secured trophies and medals for all youth league finalists.
Umičević expressed hope that the upcoming events will become a true celebration of handball, friendship and sport, as well as another confirmation that Republika Srpska has a large number of talented young handball players.
