The Serb people were victims of genocide during the Second World War, and that is the truth, lawyer and former adviser to the Israeli prime minister Ariel Bulshtein told RTRS.
“There are some who want to conceal that truth. We will not allow that. We will present evidence about the people who participated in it 80 years ago,” Bulshtein said.
Connection between Serbs and Jews
He stated that there is another historical connection between Serbs and Jews.
“One of the main figures involved in directing terrible crimes against Serbs and Jews during the Second World War was Haj Amin al-Husseini, who met with Adolf Hitler. He discussed bringing the Holocaust to the Balkans. Muslim divisions were established here, and we will not allow others to disguise the truth,” Bulshtein said.
He stressed that Serbs and Jews have no right to forget.
“Our obligation is to remember and to pass that memory on to future generations,” he added.
Republika Srpska the best friend of Israel
Bulshtein said ties between Republika Srpska and Israel are strong and that Republika Srpska is without doubt Israel’s best friend.
“You can feel that through the political relations between Israel and Republika Srpska, as well as on other levels. SNSD leader Milorad Dodik visited Israel three months ago and not only met the prime minister and other leaders of our country, but was also presented with an award in our parliament. That is a significant award,” Bulshtein said.
He added that Republika Srpska and Israel will continue their cooperation in the future.
“We have shared values and a shared history. Economic cooperation is also necessary, and the goal is to attract Israeli investments. We can offer a lot in technical terms, and we want to share that with our friends,” Bulshtein stated.
