The decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina once again confirms what Republika Srpska has been warning about for some time—that the judiciary in BiH has been turned into an instrument of political score-settling, and that, following an established pattern, political processes are being steered from Sarajevo through courtrooms, said Acting President of Republika Srpska Ana Trišić Babić in a statement to SRNA.
Trišić Babić stressed that the institutions of Republika Srpska recognized this latest abuse of the judiciary orchestrated from Sarajevo in time and acted responsibly to protect the institution of the Government, while also preserving peace and stability in Republika Srpska.
“This is not a sign of weakness, as some in Sarajevo hope and try to portray it, but proof of the institutional maturity, responsibility, and seriousness of Republika Srpska,” Trišić Babić pointed out.
Unfortunately, she added, Sarajevo once again showed neither the minimum of political creativity nor the willingness to behave as a partner in BiH, acting instead solely as a center of constant abuses and political traps.
“Their policy has been reduced to one thing—looking to the sky and calling for foreign interventions, instead of facing facts and the reality we live in. Rather than understanding global changes and the new era ahead, Sarajevo stubbornly remains trapped in shortsightedness and political myopia, convinced that Republika Srpska can be weakened, destabilized, or intimidated through the same worn-out mechanisms. It cannot,” Trišić Babić emphasized.
She said that Republika Srpska remains committed to peace, stability, and dialogue, but strictly on the basis of the Dayton Peace Agreement, compromise, and respect for agreements.
“The citizens of Republika Srpska can be at ease. The institutions are doing their job and will not allow anyone to jeopardize stability. The only ones who will lose are those who still believe they can achieve something by abusing the same courtrooms over and over again. They will not. They will only push themselves into ever greater delusions and deeper political isolation,” said Acting President of Republika Srpska Ana Trišić Babić.
Earlier today, the incomplete Constitutional Court adopted a decision declaring the previous composition of the Government of Republika Srpska “unconstitutional.”
