Srđan Kolarević to open the eighth “Intime Jazz Fest” at Banski Dvor

Banski Dvor in Banja Luka will host the eighth edition of the jazz music festival “Intime Jazz Fest,” which will take place on Monday, 24 November.

The honor of opening the festival has been given to Srđan Kolarević, an artist born in Banja Luka whose musical journey has taken him from the local scene to prestigious European and American stages.

Kolarević said he is bringing to the Banja Luka audience his band from Vienna — a group made up of close friends.

“We’ve been friends since our studies in Graz. I reconnected with them after many years, and we recorded an album whose title translates to ‘New Songs with Old Friends Who Are Still Young.’ I realized that many close friends live in Vienna, gathered them together, and we created this album of new songs,” Kolarević explained.

He noted that the musicians performing at Banski Dvor come from various jazz centers.

“I’m bringing Austrian pianist Martin Wurst — an outstanding musician. On double bass will be Dušan Simović, originally from Sarajevo, and Dušan Novaković, a world-class drummer from Pančevo,” Kolarević said.

He added that this will be his first performance in front of a hometown audience, and that his feelings are mixed.

“We’ll see how it goes, but the joy is great. Nothing compares to performing in your hometown,” he emphasized.

Kolarević invited all jazz lovers in the city on the Vrbas to attend the festival.

“I invite all friends, the audience, and jazz enthusiasts. Come — I hope you enjoy it. I hope the performance will resonate with the public,” Kolarević concluded.
