President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated after the UN General Assembly adopted the draft resolution on Srebrenica that they did not manage to secure even a simple majority, which, according to him, indicates that this is a failed resolution.
“Nearly 110 countries either did not vote, were against, or abstained. This is a failed resolution, meaning that the UN did not support it. Their attempt to impose genocide and moral disqualification on the Serbs has not succeeded,” Dodik said.
He noted that Americans might claim that 84 votes in favor are sufficient, but he questioned, “by what principle is that enough?”
“Is that by democratic principles? In the West, we are taught that a democratic majority is one that is more than half of the total number. They don’t have that. Why are they lying?” Dodik questioned.
He emphasized that their attempt to label the Serbs as a genocidal people has failed.
“The government has initiated, following this, the issue of peaceful separation. After this, we have no reason to remain together,” Dodik concluded.
