Dodik: Issues will be resolved through a referendum

President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik told RTRS that all issues in Srpska will be resolved through a referendum, adding that he expects all other parties to accept the decision to boycott the elections announced by the Central Election Commission of BiH.

“First, the referendum decides whether to accept a court that is unconstitutional, and then on the decision of the CEC. I am most disappointed in what is called the EU,” Dodik said.

He added that he could have chosen a life of comfort, but instead chose to fight for Republika Srpska, explaining that he has been involved for too long and that this is why they want to remove him—because he remembers too much.

“We are in a crisis imposed by Christian Schmidt, related to the dysfunction of the Dayton Agreement. I expect all other parties to accept the decision on the boycott; no one in Republika Srpska is calling for elections, not even the opposition. I call on them to stand by the decision of the National Assembly not to participate in the elections. If they do participate, they will violate that decision, which means they are servants of Sarajevo and Schmidt. We will see—time is the best judge, and there is no better interpreter of who is right than the people,” Dodik emphasized.

Speaking about the new government, Dodik said that everyone is working toward the same goal, thanking those who have served in the government so far.

He also said that there are always those who object to everything, calling it primitive not to wait for an answer, which, he added, can only be done by those who hate Republika Srpska.

“Those are Schmidt’s units—SDS, PDP, and the ‘Justice for David’ list. That is why they are losing in the polls. They are the worst Republika Srpska has,” Dodik stated.

Regarding dialogue in BiH, Dodik said it will take place when the other two sides are willing, stressing that the arguments are on the side of Srpska.

“Prime Minister Minić put it well: if someone is dissatisfied, they should file a complaint. We have been complaining for a long time, and it is time to put forward a proposal to terminate the agreement,” Dodik said.

Commenting on the financial situation in Srpska, Dodik noted that there were those who claimed it would not survive the year.

“Republika Srpska has increased salaries. By the end of the year, Republika Srpska is moving toward reaching an average salary of 900 euros or 1,800 KM. I believe we will secure investments of around four billion KM—two billion euros. I believe we will reach a domestic product worth 20 billion. In other words, investments will amount to 20 percent of the domestic product,” he concluded.
