Željko Budimir, Minister for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, stated that it is of great importance that Republika Srpska, following support from Hungary, has now received backing from both Russia and China at the UN Security Council. He emphasized that Republika Srpska will continue its diplomatic offensive.
“It is extremely important to internationalize the issue and the problem created by the unconstitutional Court of BiH, and for the rest of the Security Council to be informed about what is happening here—something that destabilizes the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Budimir said, noting that there is clearly no unified stance within the international community regarding the current developments in BiH.
He stressed that Republika Srpska will continue its diplomatic efforts, through its international allies, to inform the global public about the ongoing situation and will take all political and democratic measures available in the period ahead.
Budimir also reminded that the highest-ranking officials, including Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, have stated that after the upcoming session of the National Assembly is convened and held, a referendum will most likely be initiated on whether citizens accept such unlawful conduct by the Court of BiH and the political proceedings against the president of Republika Srpska.
