Šekerinska: The Dayton Agreement must be respected

The Dayton Peace Agreement must be respected, as it is the cornerstone of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s constitutional framework, stated Radmila Šekerinska, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, ahead of a meeting with the Presidency of BiH.

She emphasized that NATO respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the Dayton Agreement.

“The constitutional order of BiH must be respected. We are committed to the stability of the region and Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Šekerinska stressed.

She reiterated NATO’s commitment to continued cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As a reminder, Željka Cvijanović, the Serb member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency, is in Brussels today together with the other members of the Presidency to meet with the North Atlantic Council.

The meeting at NATO headquarters is expected to focus on the current political situation in BiH and cooperation with NATO.

This marks the first meeting of the current Presidency with the North Atlantic Council, NATO’s main political decision-making body.
