Minister of Trade and Tourism of Republika Srpska, Denis Šulić, told SRNA that following a successful winter tourism season, the Ministry is now launching preparations for the summer season with the goal of creating conditions for yet another record year in tourism for Srpska.
“We had an excellent winter season, with an increased number of arrivals and overnight stays compared to the previous year,” said Šulić.
According to data from the Republika Srpska Institute of Statistics, from December through February there were 97,491 arrivals and 254,833 overnight stays, representing an increase of over 6,000 arrivals and 20,000 overnight stays compared to the same period last year.
“These figures refer to registered arrivals and overnight stays in hotel facilities. The numbers are significantly higher when we include guests staying in private accommodations,” Šulić added. “We’ve already launched activities with the Institute to begin tracking these guests, and once the central information system is established, we’ll have a complete overview of all arrivals and stays in Republika Srpska.”
In preparation for the summer season, Šulić recently held a meeting on Jahorina with representatives of local municipalities and hoteliers to jointly create a calendar of activities and events across the Sarajevo-Romanija region.
“This Friday, I’ll be in Foča for a meeting with institutions and businesses essential for preparing the summer rafting season. Our goal is to develop not only attractive experiences for tourists, but also to ensure that all necessary conditions for their arrival, stay, and enjoyment in Republika Srpska are in place,” Šulić concluded.
