Borac continues the chase for Zrinjski! In a rescheduled match of the 18th round of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Premier League, the team from Banja Luka defeated Sarajevo 2–0 away, narrowing the gap to just three points behind the league leaders.
The visitors struck early. Enver Kulašin broke through on the left wing, beat Soldo who brought him down, and referee Antonio Tomić pointed to the spot. David Vuković was calm and precise from the penalty.
Sarajevo had more possession after that but didn’t pose a real threat until the 43rd minute when Carlo Butić’s shot was saved by Damjan Šiškovski, who had left the North Macedonia national team camp to guard the net in this derby.
Towards the end of the first half, the home side appealed for a penalty, but it was clear that the ball had deflected off Srđan Grahovac’s leg onto his hand—insufficient grounds for a penalty.
Borac looked much more dangerous in the second half. First, Đorđe Despotović threatened, followed by a chance from Enver Kulašin. In the 60th minute, Vuković brilliantly set up Sebastián Herrera, who shot just wide. Moments later, after a strike from the Colombian, Borac hit the post.
They finally converted in the 67th minute. Ogrinec found Despotović, and the experienced striker calmly placed the ball into the net.
Borac then held their lead and secured a major boost, especially as they are set to face Sarajevo three more times in the near future.
