Christian Schmidt is a ghost of the past who played a destructive role in Bosnia and Herzegovina under the baton of former US ambassador Michael Murphy, stated Dževad Galijašević, author of the book “Ghosts of the Past” and expert on counterterrorism.
“That role is now being taken over by British ambassador Julian Reilly,” Galijašević added.
When speaking about the security escalation and crisis in BiH, he stressed that Schmidt is the one who provoked it — something even Schmidt himself has written about.
“We are talking about a security escalation and a political crisis caused by Christian Schmidt, who came to Sarajevo and proclaimed himself as High Representative. He changed constitutions and laws and was the initiator of processes in which the unconstitutional judiciary of BiH became involved,” said Galijašević.
He emphasized that his book speaks precisely about that — because when discussing the ghosts of the past, one must also reflect on the present.
“How much have we learned from the past, and are we repeating the same mistakes?” he asked.
According to Galijašević, the response of Republika Srpska has been to refuse the trampling of its constitutional rights.
“It’s a fabrication that the crisis is coming from Srpska — it is Schmidt who is escalating the situation. An individual cannot make laws, but some in Sarajevo refuse to acknowledge that. They do not want to admit the Constitution is being violated — even though it’s very easy to read,” he added.
He concluded that the entire situation is orchestrated externally, primarily by the British and Germans, with Russia and Turkey being sidelined.
In Banja Luka, a promotional event was held for Galijašević’s book “Ghosts of the Past – How Islamism Became the True Face of Nazi Identity and Terror”, in which he describes his perspective on historical events and their influence on current political and social affairs.
