On Sretenje, in honor of Serbia’s Statehood Day, one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, Niagara Falls in Canada, was illuminated in the colors of the Serb tricolor.
This magnificent sight captured the attention of people worldwide.
Additionally, the significance of this event was further highlighted by the Mayor of New York, one of the largest global metropolises, who proclaimed Sretenje as Serbian-American Relations Day, recognizing the contributions of the Serb community in the United States.
The lighting of Niagara Falls in the colors of the Serb flag once again demonstrated that distance cannot erase the connection between nations that share the values of freedom, friendship, and a common future.
